Rock solid protection | | Review Date: December 30, 2009 | | Reviewer: Jeffrey E, Austin, TX | Honestly, I believe that all AV software is pretty good at providing protection. I have four PC's and I run different AV software on all of them. Mostly because I get free versions to review. As of right now I am using McAfee, AVG, Viper and TrendMicro and they all work well. What I like best about TrendMicro is that is stays out of the way (does not take up too many resources) and it installs and un-installs easily. I wrestled with Norton and vowed to never, ever use them again. It simply took over my PC and it took forever to scrub it off my system; not so with TrendMicro; it runs very cleanly. Very nice, great protection and easy on the system. That's all I want out of a AV package. PS - it would be nice if this included a Firewall, but that is why we have Comodo! |
Works Wonders and Updates are a Major Help (Win7 compatible) | | Review Date: December 3, 2009 | | Reviewer: Producter, | This is the Latest version of Trend Micro's Antivirus/Antispyware software. It is basically last year's version, but with the latest updates and compatibility for Win7. As you can see by last year's version, the reviews are mostly praising both this product and its company (more 5 stars than any other stars). Trend Micro Antivirus + Antispyware 2009 [OLD VERSION] I would agree with the positive reviewers, as this product does have much to offer. The price is just right as well, and its well worth the money for the protection. A+ product. |
My Favorite AV | | Review Date: December 22, 2009 | | Reviewer: Mr. Fantastic, Greensboro, NC | I love this software. I've been using the previous year's version until now. I expect nothing less, which I really, really like. I've tried others (macafee, etc.), but this is the one that I will stick with. I've scanned my computer with other AV programs with a very strong inclination that I have a virus (because it is running suspiciously slow or my firefox page just shows up blank)and nothing was detected and of course the problem was not solved. I've never had that frustrating experience with Trend. I'm pretty paranoid about viruses and the like. This is really cool software. When browsing it will tell you if a page is "safe" before you open it in the search engine. It also tells you if you need a windows update. All in all this is a very nice, easy to use, and easy to install program. I highly recommend it. |
Trend Micro Software Is Fantastic!! | | Review Date: December 23, 2009 | | Reviewer: Daniel McKinnon, Tewksbury, MA USA | I have been a Trend Micro user and supporter for many, many years and easily can recommend most of their products. I find their applications to do the job as advertised, are easy to install and use, and any time I have needed to call their support system, I get a REAL PERSON who is educated, friendly, and quick to answer the phone. Every year the neweset Antivirus/Antispyware software has added more in the product, the footprint is smaller on the machine, and less resources are used as the years increase as well. Trend Micro Antivirus + Antispyware 2010 doesn't buck that trend and I am a happy TM user for yet another year!! I love Trend Micro stuff and feel that if you need an Antivirus/Antispyware suite, look no further!! ***** HIGHLY RECOMMENDED |
I've been very happy with Trend Micro Antivirus+ | | Review Date: December 27, 2009 | | Reviewer: Nix Cadavre, Michigan, USA | There's not much to review when it comes to antivirus software, as it's not so much what it *does* that's important (they all do the same thing, and with about the same level of competency), but what it *doesn't do* that matters. In the case of Trend Micro, I've been very pleased because their package is non-obtrusive. I've tried Norton, AVG, and Mcaffee, and I didn't like how those programs would embed themselves in the OS, and make it hard to disable or remove specific parts, and sometimes even bog down the system. For example, Norton insisted on installing a toolbar in my web browser. I had no choice in the matter, and I had no ability to remove it. I could hide it, but it was always there, taking up memory and space and bogging down my Internet experience; Frankly, I hated it. There was no "uninstall" feature, and no control panel within Norton that allowed me to disable that toolbar. It was ever-present, and completely unwelcome. Trend Micro also has a toolbar, but they offer the CHOICE of disabling it and all the other features of their package. If you want just the antivirus and firewall, you can have just the antivirus and firewall. They leave it up to you. Of course, they make recommendations, but they don't hijack your computer like Norton does. To me, that degree of freedom is what makes the difference. Trend Micro doesn't make my computer run slow, and it doesn't force me to use what they think is necessary. They let me tweak how I want, and I think that's important. |
