works alright | | Review Date: March 8, 2008 | | Reviewer: Avner Goldman, New York, New York | | This thing is nothing special, but it works decently as long as you're fairly close by to the receiver. The price is right. |
Lifechat | | Review Date: June 21, 2009 | | Reviewer: John F. Mcdonnell, Depoe Bay, Oregon | | Microsoft LifeChat ZX-6000 Wireless Headset- This product works well and I am very pleased with it. |
Regular user for over 2 years | | Review Date: April 24, 2010 | | Reviewer: Rushabh Mehta, St Petersburg, FL USA | | I travel extensively for work and use this headset for Skype calls, other VoIP activities and also for recording training material. I love the portability of this headset and it has worked extremely well for me. I love the convenience of not being attached to my laptop during VoIP calls. The headset is a bit uncomfortable when you first put it on your ear, but that quickly fades away. Call quality has always been great. I highly recommend this headset for road warriors. |
great headset as long as you do it right | | Review Date: May 8, 2010 | | Reviewer: Ryan L. Zapsic, Cleveland, OH | When I started out with this headset I completely agreed with every single one of these reviews and was ready to junk the thing. Although I decided to call Microsoft and at least hear them out. When I spoke with the tech on the phone he stated that this is a decent headset you just have to make sure you are setting it up correctly. 1. Allow the headset to charge for 4 hours. 2. Make sure it is plugged directly into a usb 2.0 port. (not a hub or anything like that) 3. Hold down the power button until the lights on the headset start scanning back and forth (after I did this it started to work great..not sure if it is recalibrating or what), when they stop and resync with the reciever you should be good. One thing I was doing was trying to run the headset from a virtual environment and that was no good because the resources weren't there to support this hardware. I could hear one out of every 5 words the person on the other end was saying. So with this in mind if your computer is running slow to begin with..this probably isn't the headset for you. When I installed this headset on a fresh install of windows xp with the above steps. It worked awesome. My only complaint is the ear piece gets a little uncomfortable after a while. |
This does work for xbox 360 | | Review Date: May 29, 2010 | | Reviewer: Christopher T. Matlock, | To connect an Xbox 360 Wireless Controller to a LifeChat ZX-6000 receiver, follow these steps: 1. Press and hold the Xbox Guide button until the controller turns on. The Xbox Guide button is the round button with the green "X" located near the center of the controller. 2. Press and release the button on the headset receiver. The light will start to flash. 3. Press and release the connect button on the controller. The connect button is the small button on the front edge of the controller. The light on the Ring of Light spins and flashes on the controller. When one of the four segmented lights remains lit on the controller, the controller is connected to the receiver. Notes * Up to four controllers can be connected to the receiver at the same time. A different segmented light will be lit for each controller. To connect other controllers, follow the same steps. * You can connect other Wireless Xbox 360 game devices by using the same process. * To view the connected controllers or change their properties, click Start Collapse this imageExpand this image Start button , type joy.cpl in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER. THANK YOU |
