Great Printer and an Excellent Scanner
|

| Selected this printer for a home network printer. Great price for this type of printer. Easy setup as a network printer / scanner. We leave the printer on 24-7, the printer sleeps when it is not in use for a period of time. Yes, it takes a minute to warm up if you print and the printer is in sleep mode. This I believe is standard for a network laser printer. Once we start using, it prints and scans very fast from any of the four pc's on our network. The scanner is quite good, I was surprised that a duel function [printer / scanner] scanner was of this quality. The printer comes with the ink toner kit. We are very happy with this printer, and would recommend to anyone looking for a small business or home network printer. |

| This machine is amazing! It's very compact for a color laser all-in-one. Very easy to set up and use. I only wish it did auto-duplex. |

I am very happy with this printer. The only thing it lacks is a faxing capability. It scans to email well, but sometimes a simple fax is quicker and easier. Other than that, it networks to our computers well and the print quality is exceptional.
We paid $380 from Amazon.com |
Great Small Business Color Printer

| I purchased this model a little over a month ago, setup was as easy as plug and play.... Speed is awesome if you are converting from an Inkjet Printer and Quality as well is fantastic, if you figure cost per page compared to inkjet that is quite a bit of savings as well. I average 5 to 200 pages per day and this thing has no issues spitting them out in great time and quality. Would recommend for any small business. |
Best Printer I've ever owned

The brother DCP-9040CN is hands down the best laser printer smaller than a refrigerator that I've ever used.
You plug it in, download the latest version of software off the brother web site, the it works with no hassle, both on a mac or pc (I did it with both).
I bought the printer used to print out a bunch of color presentation materials so I didn't have to spend $500 at Kinkos. It handled the ~2,000 page job without a hitch (though I blew through toner like it was my job). The print quality is excellent for black or color, although for pictures you'd hang on the wall in a frame I'll use my inkjet with the special photo ink every time. It prints pictures decently well, and they look great if you use nicer paper.
The printer always knows what's wrong with itself, and it seems to me like every part in the thing is replaceable without having to hire someone to fix it. There is a useable life meter for every moving part in the printer.
The scanning feature that brother includes is great, and the scanning software makes scanning the 20+ page documents that I want to make into pdf's as easy as shoving them in the autofeeder and pressing a button EITHER on the software or on the printer itself.
I'd buy it again in a heartbeat, and wished I found it sooner. |
